More Thrift Goodies and dollies

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day.

We shopping yesterday, Joann's, the mall and Home Depot, where we bought a Weber grill, that my husband has wanted for awhile.  Today, my hubby and son cooked for me, they grilled shrimp and chicken kabobs, grilled veggies, with Cesar salad, yum, then strawberry shortcake for dessert. Thank you.

I also went thrift shopping earlier this week and found some more goodies.  My friend Debbie, found the bigger bench at a yard sale, for $4.00, it is perfect for holding two dollies.  I found the little rocker at Goodwill for $1.99, the bear $1.00 and the black candle holders were .99 each, I thought that they would make good make-dos.

I also purchased another image from ewe-n-me-primitives, this one to go with my elf display.  A friend of mine's husband drive a logging truck, so he brought  me back two big bags of sawdust.  This is first time I have used it as stuffing, works really well.
I used a green checked fabric for the backing

I made some more dollies, of course, this is a Sweet Meadows Farm, I won this fabric on EBAY and I printed the vintage Halloween tag off of the internet.
I also made one of Sweet Meadows Farm bagholders in a patriotic print
Another doll with some more of the gingerbread print, that I spent a fortune on..
This was a custom order, the customer wanted a teacher doll in a patriotic jumper holding a flag and I had the books and pencils left over from something years ago.  It pays not to throw anything away, you never know when you will need it.
 Another patriotic doll

Well, enjoy what's left of the weekend, back to work tomorrow. I am planning the doll & quilt display at our library, so tomorrow will be spent working on that, so I will definitely enjoy tomorrow.  I will post some pictures later this week, if all goes well.  Stay tuned, I haven't done a give-away lately and am working on some ideas for that.  Bye, Cyndy

  2. How sweet! I will be cooking for hubby and me but it is like the simplest thing. Eye of Round-salt and pepper it. Pop it in a 500' oven--no moisture or foil--just roast in an open pan. 7 minutes per pound. For me--14 minutes. Turn off oven. Do not open oven until 2 hours has passed. Slice and eat. Still moist and very tasty.
Anyway, I'm glad you got a new grill. I am trying to talk hubby into a nice small one and he says not until this one craps out!
I have also been giving the swap thing a lot of thought. I love all your things. Can you let me know what you are considering of mine? I have a ton of bread boards, a stack of wood bowls, wood utensils, picture frames, some big wood cheese boxes. I re-purpose wood items. And baskets. and make ditty bags. doesn't sound so good when I list it.......
Have a good week! Hope the sun shines where you are!
