Back From Georgia and Give-Away Reminder ....

We made a quick trip to Georgia last weekend.  We took Friday off and headed to Bryon, Georgia.  My hubby collects face jugs and the Merritt Pottery Festival  was last Saturday.  We stopped at Cracker Barrel and had lunch, then onto Priesters Pecans and Candy Shop.  My hubby is like a little kid in that store, I think he sampled every sample they had out. My son, David went with us.  Notice my hubby's big smile.

some of their goodies, see all the sample cups!
more... I bought some praline pecans, my favorite.
After we checked into our room, we went to a big antique store and browsed
they had some really nice things and reasonably priced

Sat. morning we got up early and went to the show. Now, if you've ever been to a folkart pottery show and looked at face jugs, you will see that some of them are "ugly" and pricey.  But my husband loves them for some reason, it seems like he has a hundred of them, most are in his "rooms"  This is one of the potters, Stanley Ferguson with one of the pieces my husband bought, a figure riding a pig.  It now adorns our mantle.

Some of the "jugs" in our living room,

and more, this is just a small sampling
After the show, we went to Warner Robbins, and did some shopping, went to Hobby Lobby, the mall, Target, Kirklands, and Kohls.  The stores were packed, lines long and people were buying.

I haven't got alot done his week, still working on orders, did get some more candy canes made, this are very popular.   From an Aunt Manny's pattern. Rag wrapped around chenille stems and foil.
Another bagholder doll, this one has a printed logo feedsack apron.  I did another one too, it was a special order with the crow logo.

And I made this from a new designer that I found, Raggedy Gals.  She was fun to make, this one is on her way to Texas after the holidays.

Don't forget to sign up for my give-away.  Just click on the picture at the top for our give-away.  I hope everyone  has a safe and happy holiday, lots of good food and shopping!  Debbie and I are going to a huge craft festival on Saturday.  Hope to get some more Christmas presents there. Till the next time. Cyndy

  2. Sounds like a fun time - and tons of shopping packed in there....I can't remember the last time I got my husband even near one store!! Glad yours has a hobby he enjoys...I've seen some of those face potteries on The Antiques Roadshow - especially those African looking ones - some of those can be quite collectible and pricey! Love your newest bag doll! She's a sweetie with that feedsack apron. Hope you have a wonderful holiday spent with those you love best...Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
