New Annie and some goodies in the mail....

We had a dreary wet cold day here in North Florida, in the 50's and rainy. We desperately need the rain, so I am not complaining. I worked on some orders and finished up a new doll. I now have a new favorite, this little Annie with her pet monkey. I found this yarn at Michaels a few months ago and used it for the first time, it is nice and thick, I made the monkey out of felt. I saw the fabric at Joann that I used for the apron and really liked it, so I used a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern and changed it up a little. I am looking for a sewn monkey pattern that I could use in place of the felt one, if anyone knows of one, please let me know.

I received a package from a new blogging friend, Cynthia. She has a blog and is looking for some new followers, she is also having a giveaway for one of her wreaths. I got an Easter table runner, jewelry rabbit, doll clothes, miniature teapot for the wall, paper covered photo album and a primitive and antique signs. Thank you, Cynthia, I love it all.

I also won a give-away from Vicky, I just love this, already have a place picked out for it. Thank you, Vicky. Your work is awesome.

Well It's Almost Monday again....

Another weekend gone---been a busy week, got lots of orders done, won 3 give-aways in the last 2 weeks and a great swap with Gina.
First my swap with Gina, ooh a box full of goodies, the fabulous little kitty (or should I say kitteh) wool pillow, the pieced cat print tablerunner (that is going on my sewing machine table, so I can see it everyday), books, socks, slouch hat (which fits perfectly), notebook, tarts and a great stitched heart. Thank you, Gina. You made my day, love to swap again in the near future.

And another give-away win, from Traci @ York Mountain primitives. A robins nest in a jar and a sweet little card. This one is going to work with me, I have a large window in front of my desk and this will be perfect, thank you Traci!

and from Debbie @ debbie's dodads, thank you Debbie, a great little basket, ribbon and some fabric, which I am going to use for a doll's apron and of course, so of my favorite candy, NIPS. Thank you, Debbie.

Made another doll, she has a patriotic chicken print wrap-around apron and is holding her chicken. And of course, this is another Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.

This was a custom order, the Annie Shelf sitter is a pattern by Craftaholics, and she wanted an Andy to go with her, so I adapted it a little I thought he turned out cute.

another blogger mentioned that she got boxes of Morning Glory thru Walmart online, so I ordered a box for $11.97 and paid .97 shipping, then went to Hobby Lobby, had a couple this time, and paid about the same for it, hubby used one coupon and I used another for the muslin. I wish they were like Joanns's and you could use more than 1 coupon. I have several order for the the bright haired little Annies so bought some bright fabric, more muslin and some bird's nest for the rabbit make-dos. Since my hubby went with me to Hobby Lobby, I went to Gander Mountain with him . He bought him some kind of handgun that was on sale.

What I did this week--the little ballerinas are really popular along with the rabbits.

Hubby is off tomorrow, but not a holiday for me, so it is back to work, he is going antiquing!

I also added the Linky widget to my sidebar, not sure how all of that is going to work, but I do know I have some Google Friends Connect (is that right?) followers.

Another weekend is gone ---- and a Give-Away win

Hi, well another weekend flew by. I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments and concern after the death of my FIL. We had a good trip, the funeral was really nice, but so glad that is over.

I told my hubby that I didn't want to do anything this weekend. I needed to catch up and rest after last week. The only thing we did was buy a new dryer,(ours is barely working), buy a bag of fiberfill and groceries. Nothing exciting. But, of course, I did get to craft some this weekend.

FYI, We had a day that we waited for a nephew to fly in for the funeral and we went into Pensacola to do some shopping and we stopped at Hobby Lobby.And what did hubby spot-- Morning Glory fiberfill on the shelf. I didn't buy any because I didn't have any coupons, it was $19.99 a box, so I am going to check out the Hobby Lobby here with a coupon!

We are having our second cold spell, in the mid-20's last night and again tonight, so I have my fire going. Made a big pot of vegetable soup and broccoli cornbread. Perfect for a cold night.

Made another little prim Raggedy

The new pattern I bought from Raggedy Old Annies, A Raggedy Ballerina. I got two of these made, One is on her way to New Jersey tomorrow.

I made my first Easter item, a rabbit make-do. I used one of the $1.00 bobbins that I bought last year at MacKintosh. This one was blue. His ears have wire in them, so they poseable.

I also won a give-away from Laura at Cave Creek Primitives, a sweet little cow doll with a prim heart. She will join some of my other dolls from other swaps and such in my craft room. Thank you Laura!

Hi, I had to draw the name a day early, as my father-in-law died this morning and we are headed to Pensacola early in the morning. He has been sick for a long time and he is at peace now. So, Barb of Barb's Heartstrokes you are the winner. Barb please email me your address and I will get her out to you as soon as we get back.

I managed to get a few dolls finished this week-- I found a new doll designer, Raggedy Old Annies. I made this one up and have another started. I ordered her ballerina doll pattern last night. Hopefully get one of those made next week.

I finished the Annie with Purple hair, she is sitting by her green-haired sister, I still have one more, a pink hair Annie. They remind me of of those dolls years ago that were popular, Cupcake or Strawberry something ...

New Projects, Give-Away ....and more

Hi, hope everyone is having a great weekend, they certainly seem to go fast. We got up early and took my car into Gainesville for servicing, then went to Kohl's, my favorite store (I saved $41.00, but spent more than that) and then onto Michaels, to pick up some yarn.

I have been working on a few custom orders this week. I have one custom order for some whimsical Raggedy Anns. I have one almost finished, she wants one with pink, one with lavender and one with

green hair, . Here is a pic of one of them, I still have shoes and stripes on her legs to do. She was fun to make, definitely different! but I think cute.

I am on a make-do craze right now, have all those bobbins to use! I am doing a swap and Mama kitty is going to live with Gina.

This one is my favorite, I used a Polka Dot Pigs pattern for the body. I am still loving that new hair that I found.

I finished another one, I call her Firecracker Annie, she is holding some wooden firecrackers. And more of that hair.

I have one these little Valentine girls left and if you would like to win her and a sweet surprise, just leave me a comment. This will be a quick give-away. Ends Feb. 3rd, so she will have time to arrive for Valentine's Day.

Manatees, Craft Festival and ....

Hi, hope everyone is having a great weekend. I was so ready for the weekend, this was one of those weeks at work, that you couldn't wait to end.

On a happy note -- I wanted to share this make-do that I purchased off of EBAY, for some reason I just had to have her, so I bought her and she arrived yesterday. I just love her. She is currently residing on the old wooden ironing board in my sewing room.

Hubby and I got up early and headed to Crystal River, where they were having the Manatee Craft Festival. We had never been to Crystal River, so thought we'd go. The craft show was disappointing, very commercial, only had a handful of good booths. Hubby found another pottery piece and I found some bobbins, I paid $2.00 for 6 of these.

We took one of their boat tours, there are 100's of manatees in their waterways.So tourism is very big in this area and with the show going on, lots and lots of people.

This is picture of 2 baby manatees, this is one of the few places that it is legal to swim with them, supposedly they love people and love to play with the humans, hubby and son are planning a trip back soon to swim with them. Manatees only give birth once, which is something I didn't know.

More manatees, the light areas are the manatees, they stay under water for 15 to 20 minutes, so you very seldom see them come up for air

It's been awhile ....

I didn't realize it has been two weeks since I last posted. Hubby went to Pensacola to visit with his dad, so I had all these plans, things to do.... but good intentions sometimes don't happen. Thursday I felt fine, went out to eat dinner, an hour later chills, pain when I touched my elbow and sick in stomach, I thought I had the virus that was going around. The next morning I stayed home and thought I was on the mend, but my elbow was still sore, then on Saturday noticed a red patch on my elbow and red streaks and my elbow was swollen three times it's normal size and thought oh no!I had surgery two years ago and ended up with lymphadema and have to be very careful, so I called my doctor and they decided that I had cellulitis, luckily it was caught in time so now on heavy duty antibiotics, slowly getting better.

But I did get something sewing done, not as much as I would have liked. And I also bought myself something--A Kindle Fire. I have to learn how to use it, but I think I am going to enjoy it.

I also made up one of the snowmen, from Sweet Meadows Farm, I bought the pattern in December and just never got it made, so I made him a Valentine's Snowman. I also used a rusty nail for his nose instead of the embroidery.

Finished another mama doll for a customer, she is one of my favorites to make, but she takes me several days to complete.

These little girls have also kept me busy, I have had orders for lots of these.

We've been having great weather, low 30's at night and high 50's and 60's during the day. Need some rain desperately. Well, I guess I have rambled enough, we have tomorrow off and then back to work on Tuesday. I hope everyone has a great week. Cyndy

Brrrr---It's cold in Florida

Well, what do they say, Be careful what you wish for, for me, it was cold weather! We had mid 20's last night and it was in the low 50's today (and yes, that is cold for us) and around 20 tonight. Our coldest weather in over a year. This was my last day off and I spent it inside, had a nice warm fire going. Fixed a pot of chili for dinner. And sewed and sewed and sewed!!

The hooked cat pillow in the chair was one of my Christmas presents, the colors were perfect for my living room. Notice the cat doorstop next to the fireplace, RJ a.k.a. "Whiskers" (the neighbors scruffy little dog) thinks it is a real cat and likes to bark at it. Both items came from Country House, one of my favorites mail-order stores.

I had this pile of bodies to stuft,dress and finish, I got quite a few finished. I discovered that if I sewed up a bunch at one time, they seem to make up faster, so I try to make 2 or 3 of each item. It seems to work for me.

A new dollie, I used a Craftaholic Creations pattern for the body and she is holding some of the new little dollies that I designed.

I had gotten several requests for little dolls for the bigger dolls to hold and this is what I came up with. They are only 4 inches tall. A little tedious, but they do turn out cute. If you are interested in the instructions and pattern, just email me and I will send it to you, I haven't figured out how to add it to my blog for a free download.

I am working on a prairie doll next, I have her almost done. I've had the pattern for a while but put off making it, because of the bonnet, but I found out that is was really easy to do. I should have her ready for a picture next time.

I've almost got the craft room done, most everything is put up, still need to vacuum and get a few more storage totes and hopefully be done until I find the new shelving I want for there.

Back to Work Tomorrow

Well, it is back to work tomorrow. Being off 10 days was soooo nice! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and looking forward to a NewYear.

We (Mary, Debbie, Me) got up early on Christmas Eve and went shopping, hit Kohl's, Kirklands, and Michaels. My husband thought we were crazy to go, but the stores were almost empty, most of the Christmas items were gone. I did pick up a few things though---like this lighted twig tree at Kirklands, half off, then I had a coupon for another 15 percent off. It looks much better than in the picture.

I started working on cleaning out the craft room, it was a mess, well, it still is, but I'm slowly throwing out, consigning some things and rearranging.I think my big splurge will be some new storage cabinets for the craft room, I want to be able to close the doors and not see everything.

I also took down all of the Christmas decorations today, did some rearranging in other areas too. As warm as it is here, I think spring cleaning has hit me already.

I been working on so new dolls, these are from a Raggedy Smiles pattern, I am loving the wool yarn that I found. I have another almost finished, but she is for the show next year, (this year, I am going to start earlier and for every two I make, I will make a third for the shows, we'll see how that works) she is wearing a gingerbread skirt and holding a gingerbread man.

A couple of the craft show dollies pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm, and another Penelope. Getting started on Valentines Day dolls now, then some Easter and St. Paddy's Day.

Another bagholdler, we had some time to kill before the cruise and stopped at a Joann's, they had lots of Christmas fabric left, found the white flannel with big red buttons. So I used it for the apron.= on this bagholder.

I also made a new mini Valentines Doll, from a Homespun from the Heart pattern, she has a little love letter and a felt heart.

I got a new cash register for Christmas, my other one died the day before the show, so we had to use a calculator, not fun! I really like this one, I was able to program within 5 minutes and it was ready to go.

Another present, a wireless printer, this works great, too. The color is fantastic.

We're Back .. Merry Christmas from Florida

We are back from a 5 day cruise to the Grand Caymans and Cozumel. I am glad we went, but sure am glad we're back. Weather was great, except for the winds, had 50-60 mph winds one night and that boat was rockin', so guess who got seasick? Me--luckily we weren't far from shore. This is our ship-Freedom of the Seas, it held over 4200 people.

Inside view of the interior of the ship, a Christamas tree and glass elevators. There were 12 floors, we used the stairs when we had to go only 4-6 floors, but after that, elevators! You find out in a hurry how out of shape you are.

David played the slots the first night and won $15.00 , after that, no more luck.

You can't really tell it by the pictures, but this area had lots of little shops and eating places.

My new home in the Grand Caymans--$15 million....

David couldn't wait to get to Mexico, he was legal there, he ordered his first Margarita at Senor Frogs. I got my one and only drink there too, a Banana Nana, it was good!

Mexico is a very poor country, this is typical of the shops they had and they would all run up to you and try to get you to go in their store. I did not enjoy that.

Their beaches are beautiful, no building is allowed, due to possible destruction by hurricanes.

Their police were everyone, they all walked around with semi-automatic rifles. They openly take bribes, our taxi driver paid one that was in the middle of the road.

We saw several Iguanas, they were sunning on rocks or hiding in holes under the sidewalks.

We ate way too much. The food was great. One of my favorite appetizers--Shrimp Cocktail,yum

I didn't get a picture of my favorite meal, it was large herb crusted shrimp, the largest shrimp I ever saw, the waiter took them out of the shell for me before I could snap a picture. My favorite dessert, Mississippi Mud Pie

David got red velvet cake, with the large wedge of white chocolate, I got the chocolate, delicious!

I don't know how many of you remember, Whiskers, well guess who is back? I don't know the why yet, but he is here and back to trashing my backyard and begging for food. We missed the little guy.

It is in the 80's here, was wishing for cold weather for Christmas, but it is not going to happen. Mary and I are going to hit the stores tomorrow morning and see what bargains we can find.

I hope that everyone enjoys a very Merry Christmas and New Year's. And that Santa visits each and every one of you, because I know that everyone has been sooooo good! I hope to catch up with everyone's blog this weekend and see what I missed. Merry Christmas! Cyndy

Christmas Goodies in the Mail

Hi, just a quick post to show off some goodies I received this week. My first was a Secret Santa Stocking swap, hosted by Prim Pals. My secret Santa was Jessica from Blessings in the Country. We were to fill a stocking with goodies, the stocking was made by another member, Kookie. Well, let me tell you, Jessica did more than fill a stocking, she filled a box.

And then a good friend, Tina sent me a little surprise, a yummy smelling tart and a Hot Buttered Maple Grits and Honey candle, cute little reindeer holder and more candy! Thank you, Tina.

Every year, we sponsor a Senior Reading Tree at the library where I work. People select tags and provide gifts for local nursing home seniors (books, dvd's, games, etc). Well, our little helper L.C. (Library Cat) decided he needed to help or maybe he wasn't getting enough attention.... He's our baby.

This a group shot of the staff who worked on the Senior Tree this year, we were able to provide gifts for over 70 seniors this year.

Finally, I got to make a new doll pattern, this is a Raggedy Smiles pattern. I used wool yarn for her hair, I love the look of it. There is a lady that sells it close by, so very easy to get. I need to add a little something for her to hold and add some shoelaces. I found the rick rack trim at Michaels for $.99 a roll.

And finally, my boy graduates from the EMT class on Friday. He still has to take the National Exam after our trip, but so far, his grades have been great. He then takes Fire II next year and then onto Paramedic. Thank goodness we have the Florida Prepaid Tuition! David is the second one from the left on the top row.

We made a quick trip to Joanns yesterday, had some more coupons I wanted to use. I wanted to get some Christmas fabric before it was all gone, well too late, there was not one piece of Christmas fabric left, there was plenty of Easter, Valentines, St. Patricks Day and Americana, but no Christmas. So I bought some of the upcoming holiday fabric. By using my coupons I saved over $50.00, you gotta love those coupons.

Then we hit some antique stores and mall in High Springs and near Lake City. There were a couple of dolls that I really liked, a little pricey, almost talked myself into the next one

She was my favorite, I can't remember the dollmaker's name, but she was from Illinois.

These were my only purhcases, a total of $8.00. The M&M container is for a present, the Radio Flyer sled I will use with a snowman or doll next year and I couldn't resist the hat for $2.00

I used some of the green fabric and made another doll. The green fabric is really nice.

I also have started on some different holidays, made two Americana bagholder. FYI, that star print is a new fabric at Joann's and it was $9.99 a yard, fabric prices are going up!!!!!

I had enough fabric left from last year to make one more of these, she is on her way to Alaska.

I made up some more of the little dolls, this one was the last Christmas doll that I made for this year. She will be headed to Canada tomorrow.

Once again, thanks for following and entering. After this week, my hubby said no more crafting for a week, as we are going on a cruise to Mexico. (I may have to sneak in a small project and take with me, I just can't sit without something in my hands to do) I do plan to take a book or two. Craft show and projects

Hubby and I did some Christmas shopping yesterday morn and then headed to the craft festival at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, FL. Wow, was it packed, we had a hard time finding a place to park. It is next to Florida Field, so you would think parking would be better. We got there early, everyone was on the upper level as that is where you enter, you could hardly walk up there. The bottom level wasn't crowded yet.

My husband bought a painted folkart plate from this guy. They had some great Black folkart.

My friend, Beth, she was squished in the there and couldn't move much.

Some of her wares. I couldn't get many closeups, because of the crowd.

I purchased this little pinkeep from Dodie, their booth was the first one I hit, they were standing in line to buy her things. She is a friend of Darlene, the one I bought the elf from last week.

I got a couple more dolls made this week, another Mama and her baby, I love making this one, but she takes some time. She will be on her way to Alaska tomorrow, so I better dress her warm. She is a Happy Hearts Pattern.

And another Raggedy holding a dollie, I tried a new type of hair on this one. Another of Sweet Meadows Farms patterns.

I am trying to learn how to paint the eyes instead of using buttons, I have a little trouble getting the circle completely round, if anyone has any hints, please let me know. \
I am wanting to start some new patterns and get ready for the new year. Even though I love Christmas, ready for another holiday to create for.

Ornie Swap goodies and Christmas Decorating

I recently participated in the Prim Pals 2nd Christmas Ornie Swap. I received them yesterday and they are even better than last year. Thank you, Debbie K, Melanie K, Kookie, Tammy R., Kim, Debbie G., Jan and Ginny and Jody.

I finally (just about) finishing decorating the living room. We are having our first really cold weather, so I have a fire going tonight. You'll notice the package under the tree, it kind of stands out, my son (who is almost 20) picked out Spongebob Squarepants wrapping paper for his presents this year.

I also ordered another elf to match the one I got from Darlene, I got him today, the one on the top, from Kat's Country Prims . I love my little elves. I also bought the pattern for Sheldon the elf from Kat's Country Prims too. Not sure about those eyes though, may have to come up with a different style for mine.

This is the Santa I won on EBAY after Christmas for $25.00.

My Santa, I decided to keep him, I made him using a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.

Some of my Santa collection. Notice the vanilla candle, it is one of the flameless wax candle that are everywhere this year. I had bought one earlier and paid $6.00 and it was on sale. I was in Family Dollar and they had them from $2.00, and it is vanilla scented and you can actually smell the vanilla. They look and feel just like wax and take 2 AAA batteries. I need to make a run and pick up some more, thinking how to use them next year.

I would also like to thank everyone who took the time to drop by my friend, Darlene's new blog. I am hoping to start on some new designs soon, got a few more orders to do. We are going to the craft show at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville, this weekend and finish our shopping.

Met a Fellow Blogger, Craft Show and Swap

Debbie and I headed for the Christmas Made in the South show in Jacksonville, FL. This was the first time in 24 years that I didn't have a booth there. Mary couldn't help me this year, so I had to give it up. It was nice to have the long weekend, but I kinda of missed it too. We found several Christmas presents, somethings for ourselves and we met Ellie from Ellie's Country Accents. She had a great booth, filled with lots of Christmas goodies.

After we finished at the show, we stopped and ate at Firehouse Subs and then stopped at a park on the St. Johns River. It was a beautiful day, in the 70's.

When I got home, there was a package waiting for me, from Robin at the Primitive Hutch. Amy from Bumblee Lane hosted a Christmas at the Cabin sway and Robin was my partner. That is also where I met Ellie, we had participated in another of Amy's swaps. I had a box full of goodies--lots of ornaments, a great little Santa and Angel, some glass ornaments, candles, cookie cutter, notepad and candy. Thank you Robin, I love everything, the ornaments are already on my tree.

This was a special request from my SIL, she wanted a Christmas Flamingo, I made these several years by
adapting a die cut and adding a hat and greenery. This is definitely a Florida ornament.

shop "ThreeDStyle" He is perched on and old step ladder that belonged to my dad.

I finished up another Santa and he is perched in a little rocker with his friend Elmer and is holding a ticking stocking.

I made a few more angels for a special order, this little Black angel is one of my favorites. 5 of the little angels are on their way to Saudi Arabia along with some prim candy canes. I guess prim is in all over the world!

I started decorating, I have the tree up and the mantel done, just a little tweaking to do. Need to wrap the gifts for people and at work and some of the patrons, then on to presents for the son and hubby.

Back From Georgia and Give-Away Reminder ....

We made a quick trip to Georgia last weekend. We took Friday off and headed to Bryon, Georgia. My hubby collects face jugs and the Merritt Pottery Festival was last Saturday. We stopped at Cracker Barrel and had lunch, then onto Priesters Pecans and Candy Shop. My hubby is like a little kid in that store, I think he sampled every sample they had out. My son, David went with us. Notice my hubby's big smile.

After we checked into our room, we went to a big antique store and browsed

they had some really nice things and reasonably priced

Sat. morning we got up early and went to the show.Now, if you've ever been to a folkart pottery show and looked at face jugs, you will see that some of them are "ugly" and pricey. But my husband loves them for some reason, it seems like he has a hundred of them, most are in his "rooms" This is one of the potters, Stanley Ferguson with one of the pieces my husband bought, a figure riding a pig. It now adorns our mantle.

After the show, we went to Warner Robbins, and did some shopping, went to Hobby Lobby, the mall, Target, Kirklands, and Kohls. The stores were packed, lines long and people were buying.

I haven't got alot done his week, still working on orders, did get some more candy canes made, this are very popular. From an Aunt Manny's pattern. Rag wrapped around chenille stems and foil.

Another bagholder doll, this one has a printed logo feedsack apron. I did another one too, it was a special order with the crow logo.

And I made this from a new designer that I found, Raggedy Gals. She was fun to make, this one is on her way to Texas after the holidays.

Goodies in the Mail and a new give-away

Just a quick post to share some of the goodies I have received. I recently won a give-away from Talena @ The Primitive Hutch. A cute little pumpkin doll and a wooden candle holder, some patterns and note card. Thank you Talena.

And then, Linda (a.k.a. Linda Claus) asked me the other day if needed any more chairs or benches for my dolls, so we are having a little swap. When I got home today, there was a big box outside the door and it was filled with lots of goodies, thank you Linda! I love the little shoes, I love everything! Be watching for your box next week.

And I recently participated in Debbies Dodads holiday cup swap. I was paired with Debbie. She got a cute little gingerbread cup, some dark hot chocolate (can't wait till we have a cold day to try it), some M&M's, a grinch ornament (my hubby will probably take it, he's a grinch fan) and a cute little reindeer. Thank you, Debbie!

Great Weekend Show!

Well, we are back from our craft show in Moultrie, Ga. and all I can say is WOW! Saturday was great, wall to wall people and hey were buying, from 9-2, it was a steady line of people waiting to pay. We had record sales, but of course, Sunday was a typical Sunday, very slow. I came home with just one bin of leftovers. Mary and I, we usually have our board up on crates, but they side door was open and the wind was gusty, so we had to lower it this year. Already thinking on how we are going to change the display up next year.

This is a couple that we met when we first started doing craft shows 15 years or so ago, Pat and Charles Revels. We found them again at this show a few years ago. They do wooden toys.

And my ornies from the Ornie Swap that Marie of Primitives by Olde Lady Morgan. They are great. The snowmen wool ornies are from Trace of Granny Trace Scraps and Squares, The wax scented Santa by Amy of Bumblebee Lane Primitives and the Star by Melissa. And Marie included a little surprise, a bag of chocolate. Thank you, Marie for hosting and the sweet surprise.

New Sock Monkey Fabric and ....

Just a quick post to share some new fabric, that I found at Hobby Lobby today. As many of you know, I make sock monkeys and matching dolls. It was hidden behind a post, the lady that cut the material said, they only had it a week and I was the first to buy any, she thought because it was "hidden". I got 4 yards, so hoping that will last me a while. And even better, it was on sale.

I had some naked doll bodies waiting to be dressed, so of course, one got a sock monkey apron. The other two are from the fabric I got from Joann's. One is off to her new home tomorrow.

Mary and I have a show in Moultrie, Ga. this weekend, so finishing up some things, I have two more heads drying tonight. I love these guys. I used the head from a Crows Roost Primitives pattern and made a different hat. Instead of a cloth nose, I used some rusty nails that I had.

I found these doll skates, when Debbie and I went to the craft show in Orange Park, wasn't sure what to do with them, but they were cute. So I put a mouse in them. I still need to add a hanger and a letter to Santa and they are done. I have been looking for baby shoes at the thrift shops and having no luck.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, we may have our first light freeze this weekend, we will be in Georgia, so it will definitely be colder there, looking forward to it. Busy Weekend

It seems like that all that I am doing right now,is SEW! I have a show next weekend in Moultrie, Ga. and hoping I have enough. I keep thinking of one more thing that I would like to make. We made a quick trip to Gainesville this morning, it was Gator Homecoming, wanted to get home before the traffic got bad. Joann's had some great coupons, I spent $247.00 and using the coupons got it down to $152.00. I bought 27 yds. of the tea-dyed muslin, it is very hard to find the whole bolt without special ordering. I used my 40 percent off coupon then I got another 25 percent off the total order.

A large Christmas doll, she is from a Raggedy Smiles pattern. It looks like I need to trim her hair a little more.

These are the trees I made on some of the $1.00 bobbins, that I got at the craft show. I still need to add a star to the one and tags. I used an Old Annie Primitves pattern for the trees.

I made some more little angels, these are selling really well. I can use alot of my scraps with this little angel.

Now, for some sad news, RJ (Whiskers) no longer lives near us, his owners have split and the wife moved all of her stuff, including the dogs. This is one of my last pictures of RJ, stealing an air filter my hubby had just changed, notice the trash around him, all courtesy of RJ. My hubby is missing that little dog, I am hearing talk of him getting a dog.

And my Witch pumpkin, won 2nd place. We had our patrons vote on their favorite for the month of October. Already bought my pumpkin for next year.

Soggy Craft Festival and snowmen projects

We headed out for the Micanopy Fall Festival this morning, was pouring down rain when we got up, but the weather report predicted it was almost out of here. So hubby and I met Mary there. Very few people there, so we were able to shop without the crowds. Here we are just getting started, the rain had stopped by the time we got there.

They had heavy rains the night before and this poor lady had to take her shoes off and go barefoot because she had several inches of rain in her booth.

My favorite stop, I always buy bobbins from him. $1.00 each, he has all different sizes, and most are a $1.00

We stopped in a few of the antique shops, I just loved this spinning wheel, one day ....

I have been on a snowman making craze lately, I just finished this one, from a Crows Roost Primitives pattern. I changed the hat and I am going to make a Christmas tree on a bobbin, from Old Annie Primitives, to go with him, he is heavy. I have him filled with sawdust.

And Frosty's hat, of course. This a RagnTags pattern.

And I made up some Santa mice on sleighs. I bought these sleighs after Christmas at Michaels, last year. I got them for $1.00 each, I have a stash of things that I am trying to use up, but never seems to be enough time.

After the show, we stopped at Applebee's and got their appetizer trio for lunch. Yummy! Then off to the junk store in LaCrosse. I didn't find much there, but some kitchen utensils for another blogger for make-dos.

And last, I guess we now have a dog, he has decided he likes our house better. I was on the couch the other day and saw something white out of the corner of my eye, and looked out of the window and there was RJ "Whiskers" throwing a shoe up in the air and guess who had been in the shed again.

MacIntosh Fall Festival

It was the perfect day for a craft show, a group of us went to the MacIntosh Fall Festival. Lots of people and some great finds.

Here we all are, it was chilly in the early morning, but soooo nice later. Mary, Me, Eileen, Christina and Debbie.

and I had to have this, a Mouse pinkeep. I think I have this pattern and have never used it. After seeing this one, I am defiinitely going to make one and the holidays are over.

Eileen in a booth of dried flowers, etc. We had a great time, some of us are headed to Micanopy next weekend for their fall festival. A lot of antiques shops will be open too.

After all of that walking, we had to stop at Steak n Shake. Eileen and Christina were starving and each got a big milkshake and a meal. How they can drink all of that and still have room for food amazes me.

I finished up my 16 elves just a few minutes ago, have a couple more items to make for orders and then onto some new projects, I got a few new patterns and ideas to work on.

My Craft Show Find

Well, Debbie and I went to the Fall Festival, the weather was beautiful. Debbie's hubby and my son went along.The show was supposed to start at 9:00, but by 10:00, one-fourths of the booths still hadn't opened. But, we did find a few goodies in spite of that.

I absolutely love this ornament, it was a little pricey, but well worth it. There were all types of Santas and snowmen and angels. I have her card, I would love to order more from her. I could have spent a lot of money at their booth. I also found a little something for Mary, but I can't show that, because I don't want her seeing it before Christmas.

I didn't get a whole lot done today, I did make two Raggedy Ann make-dos. I liked the way they turned out. Now hopefully I'll be able to get the bobbins next weekend to make a few more.

Well, the Walking Dead is coming on, can't miss the season opener. Hope you all have a great week~

Shows, Projects and Loot in the Mail

Well, the weekend is already half over, I had a nice quiet one, all by MYSELF! Hubby is away for a few days, he had a conference and then went to visit his parents in Pensacola. David had clinicals, he worked two 12 hour shifts, so no one home except ME! I got to sew, sew,and sew and I watched Walking Dead (1st Season again) to get ready for the new one tomorrow night. I had several orders to finish up, got some naked bodies clothed and some new projects started. I also worked in the yard some and played with our "dog", picked up more shoes and trash!

I made a few new Santa and Elmer, his reindeer. A Pineberry Lane pattern.

Some orders and swap items

I bought some springs from a gal in one of the Facebook groups I am and I received some spools in swap from Tammy of Scentfully Country Gal Creations. Not quite sure how I will use them, have some ideas tho. Maybe some mini snowmen make-dos.

And I received my give-away win from Maria of the Frenzied Fox, the painted chicken print. Thank you Maria, I love it, it will go perfect in my kitchen. I did another swap with Lil Raggedy Angie for the child's ironing board, I bought a large one several months ago at an Antique Fair. I am using them for display.

I was decorating our display cabinet at the library and I ended up with a live decoration. LC (Library Cat) had to climb in and investigate. He then spent the rest of the day curled up next to my computer and snoozed.

We also did our staff decorated pumpkin contest again, I thought I had a better picture saved, mine is the witch this year. I couldn't come up with a good idea this year. I already have next year's planned, a Jeepers Creepers Scarecrow.

We teach craft classes at the library where I work, and they are definitely not prim crafts. They have to be more the cutesy type and anything with claypots seems to be popular. We are doing a Christmas Village this year. I have to admit, that I like the way this turned out, even if it isn't prim. I am doing the Santa and Mrs. Claus, tree and Claus' house. We almost have our class full in less than a week.

Tomorrow, Debbie and I are going to a Fall Festival in Orange Park.Hoping we'll find something good, I heard that it wasn't very good this year. Next week, some of us from work are headed to MacKintosh and then the following week the one in Micanopy.

Well, I need to get back to making elves, I have 14 to make, I only have 7 made. So far, this year, I have made over 40 of those little guys.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Not much going on this weekend, we have had a rainy several days and another in the works for tomorrow. I wanted to put out my scarecrow and such out this weekend, but too much rain, maybe next weekend. We have lots of craft shows finally happening in our area the next 3 weekends, hoping I will find some goodies. My show is in about 5 weeks, so still trying to get ready for it.

I had a request for some Annie angels, so I came up with this and I am happy with the way she turned out. I have a bunch of them drawn out, but now have to find the time to sew them up. I usually take a project with me to work, and at lunch, I will stuff or stitch and get a little more accomplished.

I combined a couple of patterns for this little mouse in a mitten ornie

I got another snowman made, he is from a Crow's Roost Primitives pattern, I am hoping to find more bobbins at the craft show. Every year, there is a man that sells all kinds of bobbins, spools, etc. really cheap, usually a dollar each, so I need to stock up again.

I have also been working on some stuff for 3 Christmas swaps I am in. Two are ornie swaps, which are always so much fun.

And an update on our neighborhood dog, his name is RJ, not "Whiskers" (but he will always be Whiskers to us) and now he runs in the house everytime the door is open and we now have to bribe him with a dog biscuit to get him out. And if he gets too excited he piddles on the floor!

I have also been the lucky winner in several give-aways, I won second place in Jean @ Prim Crafts and then I was one of the winners in Lil Raggedy Angie's weeklong give-away. It arrived Sat., thank you Angie, I love everything, especially your little penguin and those metal stockings.

I received a woven runner, a set of snowflake napkins, a penguin doll, gingerbread potpourri holder, and those great metal stockings. I also was the winner in The Frenzied Fox give-away , I will post pictures when I receive that one too. I love winning give-aways, it is just like Christmas.

If you read my last post, you read about the thief in the neighborhood, this is a couple days worth of thieving, of course one of those was mine, he is sneaking in the shed when I am not looking. Today, I already found a shoe.

I made up of the mouse on Frosty's hat this week, the picture is a little light, I am hoping to get a few more made of these. This is from an Old Road Primitives pattern.

Two more, Christmas Raggedy Bagholders made, one for ETSY and the other for my show.

Another Annie, used the same pattern from Sweet Meadows Farm. I found the apron print on ETSY, it says I love Raggedy Ann and Andy and the red plaid from Joanns. I love how she turned out.

A Thief in the Neighborhood, Give-Away Wins, A New Give-Away and more--

Hi, we have a thief in the neighborhood, he likes to steal shoes, but only one! He also likes to steal pumpkins, I placed my large claypot scarecrow next to my front door with a small real pumpkin, got home yesterday, the pumpkin was gone and my scarecrow was moved. Found the pumpkin in the back yard with the stem broken off and a nice wet soggy diaper. YUCK. Well, I am calling him out, here is a picture of our thief.

We call him "Whiskers" aka "the THIEF", because of all of the wire like whiskers on his snout. He is one of the dumbest dogs I have ever seen, but cute none the less. He loves my son and is our walking partner, if you open the car door he jumps in ready for a ride or open the front door in he walks, nothing like the neighbors dog that lives at your house!

I recently participated in the "Fall Ornie Swap" thru the Prim Pals forum, thanks to everyone who participated and to prim pals for hosting this. We are doing a Christmas ornie swap next, this is the second one and last year's was so much fun.
A package was waiting for me when I got home this morning -

I was the second winner in Jean of Prim Crafts give-away. Jean sent me some great Halloween items. I love that cat with the pumpkins, and the pumpkin and the prim candelight. Thank you, Jean. It is very much appreciated.

I also participated in the envelope swap thru Prim Pals, it was a secret swap and no one knew who their partner was, I received this great pin keep from Ginny N. Thank you, Ginny, it is perfect as I collect sewing items. As you see, I already have it placed so it is handy.

I also made a Santa, I usually only get one of these made.

And of course, another Raggedy Ann, she has a monkey print wrap-around apron and is holding a mini sock monkey.

A new pattern, Liberty Creek Primitives was having a half off pattern sale and I got this one. I used an old cutter quilt, that I tea-dyed then stiffened with starch for the wings and the added the stitching.

I put out a few more decorations for fall and Halloween, the witch and the pumpkin the front and shelf are from Lil Raggedy Angie and my new black cat and pumpkins from Jean.

This is a quilted table runner, that I got in a swap last year, with Sew Diva Diane, I love the colors.A

I am still bringing out more, you gotta love those swaps!

Fall is Here!!!!!!

Finally, some cool weather, only in the 70's this weekend, soooo nice. Seems like the weekend just flew by as usual. We went to a craft fair not far from where we live, this is their second show in this location, the first show was bad, this one better, they actually had 3 prim booths. So, I am thinking maybe, next year, I will try the fall one. They had perfect weather and the the prim booths were packed. I picked up a few items to use in my displays and with my dolls. I found this doll chair, just perfect for a large doll.

and a few items for dolls to hold, an elf ladder and a star with a candy cane.

I just finished her up, she is a big girl, approx. 29 inches tall. I found the apron material at Hobby Lobby, it has the cutest dogs and the red plaid was on sale. I was very happy with the way she turned out.

I made a smaller version with a different doll pattern, by Raggedy Smiles.

I also made a snowman doorhanger, this is an old pattern, that I used to make years ago. A Bonnie B. Buttons pattern.

I finally got some more Christmas items made, these guys are from a pattern by Sunnyknoll.

It's Debbie's birthday tomorrow, (Debbies Dodads) and I made her a cake, this is a brownie/ice cream pie. It should be in a pie pan, but with the crew at work, you have to make a big pan, this will be gone in 2 minutes.

I found these at Hobby Lobby, they have lots of vintage looking decorations this year. I had good intentions of decorating this weekend

This was the only item I put out, a scarecrow that I won off of EBAY last year. Have it all pulled out, but ran out of time.

And Another Weekend is gone ....

Why does it seem like the weekends never last? We have had beautiful weather, in the 80's and some 60's at night last week. Fall is definitely coming to Florida.

Debbie (From DebbiesDodads) and I taught a Fall Clay Pot Craft last Thursday and Friday at the library where we work. We have had several workshops over the last 2 years and this one was the best yet, according to our attendees. Debbie made a little clay pot witch and I did a larger Scarecrow.

This is a pic of some of the ladies that made the scarecrow, this was our first time trying just one project each. We usually have several projects that they can complete. But the ladies requested that we do a larger item for a centerpiece or such. We have come up with a mini clay pot (since they are so popular) Christmas Village. The pattern looks really cute, so we are working on them now, to see what it will look like. I'm seeing a trip to Hobby Lobby really soon (and it will be work related)!!!!!

Hubby and I went antiquing on Sat., stopped at our little junk store first, didn't find much there. Next,we went to High Springs, a nice little town with lots of antique stores, as you can see, some of the stores had some fall displays and lots of prim items.

I saw lots that I wanted, but ended up with only a doll chair and a soft sculptured ear of corn (I forgot to take pictures of them) that I will use with my scarecrow.

My projects this week, some more prim reindeer, little Annies and an order for Santa ornies. I have a pile of patterns stacked up, that I want to get started on, but never seem to get to them.

These are the two Santas I finished up, they were pictured in the last post, still need to add a stocking or something in the ones hands.

The Long Weekend is Over ....

I don't know about you, but I am NOT ready for the weekend to be over. We didn't do much, just hang around the house, today, my son started to pressure wash the house and wouldn't you know it, it started to storm. We are supposed to get the rains tonight and tomorrow from the storm that hit the gulf.

I finished up a couple more scarecrows, I had an order for one and did another one, too. These are the Sweet Meadows Farm pattern. I really enjoy making these guys. They have the round heads.

I found this little body laying in the craft room, so I make her some clothes and added her dollie.

These are the bodies that I got sewn, stufffed and dyed ....

and this is were I am tonight, the two Santas are what I worked on today, still need the paint the boots on one and make something for them to hold. I am thinking a large stick horse or quilted bag.

I am finished up this little Christmas scene.

I did work some (alright,, just a little) in the craft room, it looked like a bomb had went off in it. It is now a little more organized. Hubby is still complaining that the kitchen table has "stuff" on it.

My New "Assistant", Another Great Swap and a new Give-Away

Hi, hope everyone is having a great start to the week. I finally got a helper and let me tell you, he thinks he is helping, but he is not. I work at a small library and when we moved 3 years, this male, black cat was eating out of the dumpster and not friendly at all. He became ours, we named him LC (Library Cat), I know novery original, but he likes it. One of our patrons operates a pet rescue and helped us get him spayed and ever since, he wants to stay in our office, be petted and eat. He loves my desk, as you can see, this is one of his favorite spots, as well as your chair, if you get up.

When I got home today, there were two packages waiting for me, my swap with Lil Raggedy Angie. She sent way too much, as usual. But sooooo happy she did!

I know she knows I live in Florida, but a window fan? Naw, she just used the box.

I wanted one of her witches and the shelf that she is sitting in, and that got us started on our swap. She included a pumpkin, candy corn, a mini rag doll, fall pip berries and some "real" candy corn and ....

The Weekend is Gone Already ....

Why is it that the weekend flies by and the work week seems to never end????

I have been busy working on orders this week, I need to make 12 of these guys, have 8 made, 4 bodies stuffed and drying, ready to dress tomorrow.

I made some ornies for our show in November, which I still don't have enough for. I used Aunt Manny's candy cane pattern and made up the little mouse that is resting in the curved part on a bed of deer moss. These always go really well.

Another Halloween Annie, using a Sweet Meadows Farm Pattern, she has a little felt bag and a boo bottlecap necklace and a little pet spider.

This was another order I finished up last week.

We made a quick trip to Joann's on Sat. I found these wall metal scissors,they were half price, they will go perfectly in my sewing room. I also found those pink tennies key chain rings,for $1.00. Thinking maybe I can grubby them up and put a mouse or something in there. And some Halloween stamps for $1.00, gotta love those $1.00 bins. I also had one of those scratch off discount coupons, I bought $60.00 of tea-dyed muslin and got it for $35.00. I wanted a bolt, but they are hard to find around here.

And a quick stop at the junk store we like to go to,didn't find much, but found this little chair and a couple of children's books to paint.

Where does the week go?????

This week seemed to fly by, so glad the weekend is here. We have had heat indexes of 110-115 for 2 weeks now, when will fall arrive?
A former co-worker and friend surprised me the other day, she stopped in and had an armful of material and wanted to know if I could use it, I defiinitely could. It is perfect for some of my fall crafting. Thank you, Dorothy.

I've had this pattern for over a year now and while I was at Goodwill the other day,I found this pair of shoes and thought perfect for a mouse. The pattern is by Homespun Hugs and Calico Kisses. I just added the Dear Santa letter and felt stocking. Now, I will be on the hunt for more shoes.

These are also new, made from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.

I also made two more of the large scarecrows, I had an order for one and made one more. They are also a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.

I am also trying my hand at bottlecaps, I have a simple craft to do for our Halloween Craft program at the library, so I'm thinking something witchy or spooky. I ordered the bottlecaps and covers and graphics from EBAY and ETSY. I'm loving the look of these, I bought some vintage witch tag graphics and somehow I want to create a tag with the bottlecap and tag image.

Surprise in the mail ...

I received a surprise in the mail from my friend, Lecia at Farmhouse Prims. If you haven't visited her blog, please do, she is the "Bonnet Queen" . I love her bonnets. This is from one of her new designs. The prints that she uses are beautiful. I should have taken a picture of it hanging with another one that I have of hers, along with the small dress and bonnet that she sent me. Thank You, Lecia.

Well, we went to Hobby Lobby, this is what $70.00 of material looks like. This was the first time that I have been in Hobby Lobby and very little on sale. I love a good sale. My favorite is the pumpkin print, it has pumpkin advertising and recipes.

Some new items, Raggedy shelf sitters, they are only 8 inches tall. They are from a Craftaholic Creations pattern.

A new mini set of Raggedy Ann and Andy, I used the body from a Homespun Hugs and Kisses pattern, and the clothing from a Sweet Meadows Farm Pattern.

I had a doll already made, she just needed clothes, so I used some of my new material. This is my pumpkin girl, she is wearing some of the pumpkin print fabric.

If any of you receive an email, supposedly from me, saying that I sent you a mini YouTube video, please don't open, because it is not from me. A fellow blogger emailed and said that she had received the email twice, she was suspicious. Not sure what it is, but it is definitely not from me. Another Week flies by ....

This week seemed to fly by, especially the weekend. Didn't seem like I got much done this weekend. We just got back from seeing the movie "Cowboys and Aliens", not too bad, if you just want to be entertained. Even our son went with us.

I have been working on more holiday items and dolls of course. I ordered some patterns from Sheila (The Craftaholic) she is having an epattern sale. I got a witch and shelf sitter. They will be my next to make. Can't wait to get started on them, these will be my first patterns of hers.

I also made a couple of nurse Annies from a Homespun from the Heart pattern, instead of teddy bears, I added a tiny red felt heart.

These are some round Santa ornies that I made, right now I can't remember the designer, I'm too lazy to get up and find the pattern, if anybody is interested, email me and I'll look. I added the toy bag and tag, still need to make one for the other two.

And one Sweet Rueben (Crooked River Mercantile). I like the round headed dolls, my first few tries were a little lopsided, but finally got the hang of it.

Lecia (Farmhouse Prims) got me in the mood to make another pennyrug, this is a Country Stitches design. Black cats have always been my favorite. I have a couple of more patterns that I want to try, they are easy to take with you and work when you can.

This Wednesday, we are going on our "work" trip to Hobby Lobby, so I have been working on a long list for me. All of the holiday stuff should be out and I can't wait to see what's new. Now, if some cooler weather would blow in, it would be perfect (along with a week off and nothing to do but sew).

Mary is under the weather, she has a chest infection, she ended up at the emergency room yesterday and is now on antibiotics, keep her in your thoughts.

Hi, I hope everyone has had a great week. The heat is finally making its way south, it has been hot, but now it is really HOT! I have been working on some Christmas items. This primitive snowman is from a Bittersweet Folk Art pattern, he is like the large Santa I made. Just love these guys! I'm thinking alot of snowmen this year.

I made these very prim snowman, from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern. Not sure if I like them, I may stick them in a stocking or arrangement.

And a gingerbread Annie, using a Sweet Meadows Farm Pattern. I added a pocket to the apron and a small gingerbread cookie and a wooden rolling pin. This is my favorite doll pattern to use.

We went to that little "junk" store this morning, that we like to go to in Lacrosse and I found a few goodies. My friend, Mary was there we got there (luckily she didn't grab that wagon first) and as we were leaving, Debbie (Debbie's Dodads) and her hubby were arriving. It seems We all had the same "great" idea. I found this wagon which is perfect for display, it already had a few nicks and dings, so it was already primmed up for me, a Crow on a wooden shutter decoration (not sure what I will do with it, but I liked it) and a bag of fat quarters (I paid .50 cents for that and already used the red fabric in the doll's dress above) and a little bear. My hubby even found several things to buy. More books, he only has 4,000, so what is a few more, keeps saying when he retires he is going to sell on EBAY).

I also bought some patterns from the Polka Primitive Pig when she was having her BOGO free sale. I made a prim Raggedy Ann button/pinkeep from the one of the patterns. I also bought one of the little mammys in can pattern.

I received my copy of Primitive Quilts and Projects today, it has lots of great fall projects. Makes you wish for that cooler weather. I am so ready to decorate with some fall items. I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend. Cyndy

Our Antique Road Trip

Well, my husband and I and Mary, took off for Mount Dora on Saturday. It was hot, humid, but it didn't rain.
We all found lots of stuff we wanted, but since we took the car, had to limit ourselves. We are planning a return trip this fall, when it is a little cooler.

This was my first buy, an old wooden ironing board, great for display. I had been looking for one and they were all too expensive. My favorite item.

An old cutter quilt and a step ladder to use for displaying also.

Next time we are taking the truck, and alot more money, great buys. My husband bought some kind of sword or dagger and a helmet. He wanted a 5 foot crosscut saw, but we didn't have room for it.

I also made a new doll, this is an old pattern by Katie's Homespun Stitches.

And another Santa from the Bittersweetfolkarts Pattern, I added more to this one. I just love this guy, he is almost 30 inches tall.

A Little Surprise from Linda and some Holiday projects

I had a little surprise come in the mail today, from Linda of Parker's Paradise, she made me a little pinkeep/tuck with my name, made with some ticking from a mattress that she has. Thank you, Linda, you are one sweet lady. I am going to use it as a pinkeep.

I got a couple of my bigger elves done, and two mice in a mitten (the pattern is by Old Road Primitives) each has a grungy candlelight sitting in the greenery next to the mice.

I won this pattern from Homespun from the Hear on EBAYt, and thought he turned out really cute, the pattern called for a grungy flag, but I had these fishing pods with nets, that are about 10 years old and made him go fishing instead.

I made bowl fillers from the Homebodies scarecrow pattern and just loved how they turned out. I am in a Fall Ornie Swap and may just use these, if something else doesn't catch my eye.

If the weather co-operates we are planning a trip to Mount Dora and go to a big antique show, the third Sat. of each month, they are supposed to have 100's of outside vendors to plunder thru. I am looking for some cutter quilts, they are so expensive on EBAY and hoping to find some reasonably priced, I have a new pattern that I want to make a quilted stocking out of and fill it with prim dolls and snowmen, etc.

My Surprise Give-Away Win Came and more projects in the works

Hi, I received my surprise give-away win from Barb of Heartstrokes. I was definitely not disappointed, I received two painted screen pictures, a Raggedy Ann and Andy, which were perfect for me, as I love Raggedy Anns. I guessed her favorite fruit and was one of the winners. I had previously purchased two chickens on screens and they are in my kitchen. They are some of my favorite pieces. Thank you Barb, I really love them!

I also received my package from Jan of Blackcreek Primitives, she was having a sell, and I bought this sweet little doll and the two crow appliqued towels, she included 3 little matching hearts. Thank you, Jan. I will be waiting for your next sel1.

This is my naked scarecrow, I have finally added some clothes and a hat, still need to make the crows and chicken and egg. And more nodders are next to him, one for my give-way, which you can still sign up for, just click on the tab in the right hand corner, and the other for ETSY. The big scarecrow is a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern the nodders are Old Road Primitives.

I just finished this big guy, I bought this pattern awhile back from Bittersweet Folkarts, when she had a sale. I also bought the snowman, so he will be next.

Hubby took me to Hobby Lobby and yeah---they were getting their holiday fabric in, so I bought lots of Halloween fabric, ended up spending $100.06, this time, I can never get out of that store under $100.00.

Hope Everyone Had a Happy 4th and Sign up for Our Give-Away

We had a nice quiet 4th. We went to the parade, our son rode with the fire dept. and of course, I had to embarrass him by taking his picture. That's him in the front seat.

There were some brahma bulls all decked for the the 4th.

On Saturday, we went to my favorite junk store, didn't find a lot, but I did find another little chair for displaying dolls, a wagon, a tin, labels and grapevine wreaths, all for $8.00.

I made another scarecrow, this one is made to hang on the door,I had forgotten about these, I was rummaging thru my pattern trying to decide what I wanted to do next and ran across this one, I made these years ago from a Pattern by Pasthyme Treasures.

I also made some more little elves, these little guys are always popular and as you can see, they sit perfectly in the little chairs I am finding and receiving in swaps. I added pipe cleaners in their legs, so they are posable.

My Swap from Linda and a New Give-Away

I recently did a swap with Linda (Parkers Paradise) and when I got home this evening, there was this great big box waiting for me. I always enjoy swapping with Linda, she sends such great stuff.

This is what I received, several baskets, some filled with old sewing supplies (which I collect), a plate, a basket full of doilies crocheted by an older woman, who told Linda that she was selling her things as she had to move into a nursing home, a small chair that I can use for displaying my dolls and a Country Sampler magazine and some patterns. Thank you Linda, you are a great swapper.

I also made a couple more dolls, I have probably made about 25 of these dolls, they always sell really well. I found some sock monkey bottlecaps and made them into necklaces for each of the dolls to match their sock monkey aprons.

And, since I am in the mood for fall, I am giving away a scarecrow nodder, this is made from a pattern by Old Road Primitives. I love this little guy. My Swap Goodies with Ellie and Finally some Rain!!!!

I recently participated in a swap, hosted by Amy of Bumble Bee Lane, and was partnered with Ellie. She has a blog( http://elliescountryaccents.blogspot.com/), so please be sure to visit her. We picked our favorite season and we both chose Christmas. I received three candlemats and candles, (my husband graduated from FSU, so I'm sure I know where that one will end up), one for Christmas with gingerbread men and one for Halloween with candy corn. A little gingerbread ornament and a prim angel, (which got cut off in the picture)

and my favorite, this snowman head that sits on a wreath. Thank you Ellie.

Since, I am in the mood for fall, I have made a few scarecrow, this is an old pattern by Homebodies. He is weighted with sawdust. He has always been one of my favorites.

This is a Simplicity pattern, he, too, is weighted and about 24 inches tall. I am still working on my "naked" scarecrow, he now has clothes.

I also made this Raggedy, she is doing her laundry, added a pocket to the apron, with a tag and some mini clothespins and she holding some laundry. I used a Pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm.

I went to Joanns last weekend and they are starting to get in some holiday fabric, the Halloween should start arriving in 3-4 weeks, according to lady that cuts fabric, can't wait.

We have finally gotten rain, not a lot, but enough to help put the fires way out. We have had rain several days in a row now and keep praying for a tropical storm or 3 days of rain, we'll take all we can get.

Update on Fires and such

Hi, just a quick update --the fires are still contained, we still have had no measurable rain, triple digit heat and nothing but smoke. But we're still here. Tomorrow we are hoping for some rain finally, keep your fingers crossed, I know some of you are getting lots of rain, so send some our way! please.

I am so ready for fall and some cool weather. I am working on this scarecrow, the pattern is from Sweet Meadows Farm. I love her designs. Finished painting his tennis shoes and stained the gloves, now for the fun part, clothes and adding his straw. there is also a large prim chicken that goes with him.

This is another favorite of mine, from Old Road Primitives, this little guy was popular last year.

I was catching up on blogs the other nite, and saw that the Polka Dot Primitive Pig had a lot of new designs using old tins and such. She had a doll on a big jar with balls of crochet thread in it. She has a new Mammy Pattern out that she used for the design, until I can order it, I used another pattern by Ragg Baggs and turned her into a stump doll and used some fabric, Jennifer of Stitchin Thyme had sent me, with the buttons and attached her to a pint jar and added buttons and thread to the jar. Mine is not as prim as Polka Dot Primtive Pigs, but I was happy with her.

Also, starting some Christmas decorations, this tree topper has always been popular.

and another Halloween doll. I found those mini alphabet stamps at Michaels, for $1.00 each for the set. They are perfect for those small round tags.

We're Still Here! and Thank You!

Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that we are still at home, everyone is still on standby, in case the fire jumps. But it is better for us. The fire has grown to over 6,000 acres, now mostly in the swamp, which they can't reach, so it just burns. My son was putting out hot spots yesterday and a rabbit hopped out, with its tail on fire, so he was able to spray it and put it out, hopefully it made it. He also said the snakes have been racing out, they have to have a medic unit now in the area, in case of snakebite.

I would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and comments, they meant a lot to me. Bloggers are the best! It is so scary to think that you might lose everything except what you can carry away in the back of a car.

Now onto happier things, I was able to make a few things this week, I have finally started on my elves. These are always great sellers at the show, I still need to add his glasses and a name tag.

I made another Americana Annie.

And a gingerbread Annie, I found the dress material at Joanns, I think it was left from last year. I still need to make a large gingerbread man for her to hold.

Fire All Around Us

Hi, I was going to post some pics of more dolls. But we have a fire in our back yard, so to speak. It has grown from 5 acres Friday, to over 3,000 today. My son is a volunteer firefighter and he is right in the middle of it. He called and said they are starting evacuations and that 3 firemen are down, just what I need to hear. Please keep him in your prayers, that he stays safe. We are now trying to decide how much we can get in the cars and what to take.

My Swap with Lecia

Look what I received from Lecia. Lecia and I recently did a private swap, she wanted a bagholder doll and I wanted a bonnet. She made me the cutest little prim dress and bonnet to go along with the larger bonnet and she added a yummy smelling tart.

I love this little dress and bonnet, I have been eyeing the prim dresses on EBAY, but this is just perfect!

I love the colors on this bonnet. Thank you, Lecia, you outdid yourself!

I have been so very lucky to have great such swap partners this past year. This swapping becomes addicting but so much fun. Once again, thanks Lecia for being a great swap partner.

My Weekend Finds

We went to my favorite junk store this weekend, only found a few things this time. The little raggedy looking bear for $1.00, washboard -$3, the liberty sheep tag $2, candlestick $1, two tea bag strainers (or that's what I think they are) for 25 cents each, the sheep magnets for 25 cents each, and the doillies were 25 cents each.

I recently did a swap with TJ at Prim Pals and she sent me the cutest little sewing jar, I had lot of jars and buttons, so when I found these sheep I knew I would make some. I had someone give me some old wooden spools and button packets, so I hope to make several of these up, just add a few rags balls, etc. and they are done.

I have finally gotten into fall show mode, I am only doing one show this year, and have absolutely nothing made for it. I won this pattern from Maureen at Sweet Meadows Farm and just love the way he turned out. TJ had sent me some wool and it was perfect for his clothing. Her patterns are the best.

Not a lot going on this week, need to work on some swap items. Hope everyone has a great week.

I'm in the mood for fall holidays ...

As you know, I love Halloween and Christmas, so I have decided to start making more of the fall and winter items (even though we are having almost record heat, up to 98 a couple of days ago) I've been wanting do another pennyrug and found this pattern by Prindle Mountain Primitives. I have another from Brenda Gervais, with a black cat that I want to again, since I have the woolfelt again.

I also made some more of the little Raggedy Angels, from I'MSEEING RAGGEDIES, and made them more Americana, this time.

And another Halloween bagholder, a pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm. I am anxious for the holiday fabric to come out, It is sooooo expensive to buy online. I noticed that Joanns is slowly adding more holiday fabric.

I received a surprise in the mail from Lil Raggedy Angie, we recently did a swap and I mentioned that I wanted to learn how to make bears, so she sent me this book to get me started. It has the cutest bears in it. Thank you, Angie!

And another holiday Annie, I had these candy canes and I found this material at Joanns on a bottom shelf, and thought perfect. I used an Oh Sew Dollin Pattern.

I hope everyone has enjoyed there holiday weekend so far, my hubby was away, so it was just me and my son, I bought some of the Tony Roma Ribs that are already cooked, and some corn on the cob and a salad for dinner. My son is so easy to cook for, as long as he has meat and a side, he is satisfied. Hubby gets back tomorrow, so I imagine we'll be grilling out. Enjoy tomorrow! Cyndy

It has been just like Christmas this week, when I got home Monday, there was this huge, heavy box waiting for me. Linda at Parker's Paradise and I did a swap, she sent me some really great things : a prim little wagon, prim whisk broom, ditty bags, towels, dough bowl, a little crock, and wooden painted spoons

I was also paired with Dee of Ice House Crafts in Amy's Farmhouse Summer Swap. I received a sign, two sets of painted blocks, one with bees and the other Americana, 3 Americana pinwheels, 2 bags of salt dough fixins with potpourri and a bag of button salt dough fixins.

This is another doll that I just finished, I did her hair like the little Mother's Day doll that I purchased off of EBAY, love the way she turned out, will be making more of those.

Just wanted to share this story, my son, who is a volunteer firemen, got a call today, they were to respond to a 911 call about a cat up a tree that couldn't get down. Well, when they got there, Animal Control , a county commissioner and 2 engines were on the scene. Animal Control couldn't figure out how to get this cat down, as he was way up there, the guy tried the ladder, it wouldn't reach, so they get a tarp and these 4 guys are holding the tarp under the cat and one uses the hose and they spray the cat down. I'm not sure to congratulate them on getting him down or to yell at them. David said the cat looked fine, he took off running, I would too, if that happened to me.

This is a doll I won on EBAY, I treated myself for Mother's Day. Isn't she cute?

We recently switched everything over to COMCAST Xfinity, phone, cable and internet all-in-one. Well, Wednesday it went down, dealing with COMCAST is a nightmare, it was going to be a week before they would even come out. Luckily, we saved the installer's card and called him, found it was in the lines, so went thru withdrawal for 2 days, fixed on the third, got everything back up and then severe storms move in, lost power for 7 1/2 hours, so another day without anything, finally got everything back up last night. Luckily, I had some dolls sewn up, they needed hair and face, etc. Worked some more on my sewing room, it is still a mess, but looks a little better now. I hung the quilt, Dorothy made me, underneath are the dolls I got in a swap with Jean at Prim Crafts.

This is a new little doll, I got the pattern from Prindle Mountain Primitives, Dorothy and her dog, complete with her little red shoes, it doesn't show up well in the picture, but her shoes are painted then red glitter is applied.

More Thrift Goodies and dollies

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day.

We shopping yesterday, Joann's, the mall and Home Depot, where we bought a Weber grill, that my husband has wanted for awhile. Today, my hubby and son cooked for me, they grilled shrimp and chicken kabobs, grilled veggies, with Cesar salad, yum, then strawberry shortcake for dessert. Thank you.

I also went thrift shopping earlier this week and found some more goodies. My friend Debbie, found the bigger bench at a yard sale, for $4.00, it is perfect for holding two dollies. I found the little rocker at Goodwill for $1.99, the bear $1.00 and the black candle holders were .99 each, I thought that they would make good make-dos.

I also purchased another image from ewe-n-me-primitives, this one to go with my elf display. A friend of mine's husband drive a logging truck, so he brought me back two big bags of sawdust. This is first time I have used it as stuffing, works really well.

This was a custom order, the customer wanted a teacher doll in a patriotic jumper holding a flag and I had the books and pencils left over from something years ago. It pays not to throw anything away, you never know when you will need it.

Saturday Finds and New Projects

Mary and I visited our favorite "junk" store again. I found lots and even my hubby found some things.
I got all of this for $12.00. I love the sheep wallhanging ($3.00), a little paper mache crow box ($1.00), sheep magnets (25 cents), wooden watermelon slices ($l.00), table runner ($3.00), 3 beanie bears($1.00 each), the doily(.25 cents) and the toy blocks (which I got for a whopping 50cents). Great store and great prices.

I finished 2 sets of the these little sisters today. They are a Cat and the Fiddle Design.

And my big girl, She is 34 inches tall. She is made from a pattern by Plum Patch.

I had been wanting to try my hand at printing on fabric, finally did it, I bought the crow pattern from Pattern Cupboard. It was soooo easy, just iron freezer paper onto the back of the muslin, cut to 81/2 x 11 inches and feed thru your printer, as you would paper.

I also got an Elf feedsack logo, that I want to make up, to go with my elf dolls. Hope you all have a great week, it is supposed to be warm here, in the 90's. Bye, Cyndy

My New Quilted Wallhanging from Dorothy B.

Hi, just a quick post to share the quilted wallhanging Dorothy(http://bcplcrafters-dorothyb.blogspot.com/) made for me. I saw this pattern in one of our new craft books and since I don't quilt, she made it for me. I have a sewing theme in my craft room and this will fit perfectly. I love it, Thank You, Dorothea!!! I'll have to wait to hang it tho, as we are having a Quilt/Doll show at the library, where we work, and this will definitely be displayed.

New Projects, Shopping and .....

Hi, hope everyone enjoyed their Easter, we had a nice quiet one. The Easter Bunny still leaves my son (who is 19) an Easter basket. I enjoyed the extra day off.

We went shopping yesterday, to my favorite store, Hobby Lobby, of course. I bought some more material, some of which you'll see later and a metal folkart chicken. My hubby collects folkart pottery pieces, those ugly face jugs, so I started collecting the pottery chickens, they are currently being displayed in pottery display, so I don't have any pics of them. I found this guy half off, and he just had to come home with me.

I bought these plates several months ago, the top center one, I picked up yesterday, it is also metal and half off. My pottery pieces also go on this cupboard. I got this cupboard from my grandmother before she died, It is one of my favorite pieces.

I have had a lot of requests for Christmas items, so thought I needed to get started on some ornaments, got some little Raggedy Angels, cats on a ball and other Raggedy ornies done.

Also, made up a little gingerbread Annie, using some scraps that I had. I have searched all over for more of the gingerbread fabric and finally found some on EBAY, hopefully it will be here soon. I found the old coca cola crate at an antique shop last year in Georgia, for $12.00, it works perfectly for displaying items.

I made up one of Sweet Meadows Farm bagholders, these have been good sellers for me the last 3 years, the gingerbread is especially popular. This is little one will be on her way to her new home tomorrow.

And last, but not least, I made up a teacher doll, using a Chestnut Junction pattern,I have had several requests for occupation dolls. I gave her a blue plaid jumper with a white and yellow print blouse that has little blue flowers, added a wooden book and pencil that I have had for ages, now I need to find a source for wooden books, gave her a pair of wire-rimmed glasses and she's ready to go. I have been wanting to put a pair of glasses on one of my raggedys, finally did it. The other doll is an Oh Sew Dollin pattern and I used more of the same material.

Storms, Food and More Dolls

Well, I good intentions of getting alot done last nite, but we had some wicked storms move thru, we heard a loud pop and out goes the electricity, luckily we had just finished dinner. When our power goes out, it usually just involves 14 of us, so we are usually the last to get back on. This time they came right out, thought they fixed it, they had, but not us, so off they go, had to call them back, of course, we were the only ones in the dark. Finally got power back around 9:00 p.m. During hurricane season, sometimes we have been without for 2 weeks, that's when we move into a motel. Nice and warm and sunny today.

Debbie (of Debbie's Dodads)and I fixed an Easter meal at work, everyone contributed and we prepared the food. I forgot to take a picture of Debbie's casserole, she made a ham, potatoes, broccoli and cheese casserole that was delicious. I made a cold dessert of layered cream cheese filling and whipped cream and fresh fruit. Everyone must have enjoyed it, there was only a spoonful of the casserole left, everything was gone.

I got a couple of new dolls finished this week, this one is from a Mulberry Memories pattern

My Share Some Stash Swap with TJ

I was recently paired up with TJ, of the Prim Pals forum, for a Share Some Stash Swap. Each person was to send a yard of fabric and several other craft items from their "stash". When I arrived home this evening, there was this huge box waiting for me. TJ sent me alot of "stash". I got lots of fabric, patterns, rusty things, sweet annie, a green bag, lace, walnut ink, a little covered box and lots more. She also included a prim jar that she made, it included buttons, rag balls and fabric covered spools and a little bench that she thought I could use for my dolls, which I can. Thank You TJ!!

My Swap with Lil Raggedy Angie

I had a big package waiting for me, when I got home today. It was my package from Lil Raggedy Angie, we recently did a personal doll swap. I love my little doll and bear, she also sent me some Easter candy (which I really don't need, but......) and a little teddy bear sign.

I am in the process of rearranging my craft room and want to have a section where I can display all of my swaps. Thank you, Angie, we will definitely do another swap, soon.

Spring is in the Air

Well, we are having beautiful weather, it had been in the 90's, but a cool front came thru, so we are in the 70's during the day. It makes it hard to work, when all you want to do is be outside.

I got a few more dolls made this week, some Americana and some Prim

The one with the dollie is from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern and the other is an Oh-Sew Dollin pattern. They are my two favorite designers.

This little pilgrim girl is a pattern I have had for a while and just haven't had time to make her, there is a pilgrim boy that I still need to make. The prim Annie with the crow and watermelon is a Mulberry Memories pattern.

This is a picture of me with my "mess" One of the shows I do, wants a picture of you actually working on your items. It's a good thing you can't see the other end of the couch, it is covered with all sorts of crafty things that I "need" to finish my dolls. This is my main work area.

And I have to admit, I collect Potato Head dolls, I started a few years ago. I found this at FYE over the weekend and since they are going out of business, was marked down, so guess who bought it, that's right--ME!

Projects and Loot in the Mail

I took today off, we had some remodeling work done on our bathroom, so I was able to catch up on some ordesr. When I went to the mailbox today, it was like Christmas, two boxes and a pattern that I had ordered. I received my give-away win from Karen of the Barely There Primitive Bear,@ Prim Pals, a wonderful little covered silhouette box, thank you Karen!

And I received the 2 framed chickens painted by Barb of http://barbsheartstrokes.blogspot.com/ that I had ordered. She also included a painted Chicken magnet, that is on my fridge as we speak, Thank you, Barb!

All my loot, I ordered a pattern from Mulberry Memories, a Raggedy Ann with a watermelon slice and a crow. I hope to get some time to start that one soon.

I have been working on these this week, Raggedys with chickens and Mini Raggedy Ann and Andy sets. I realized the other day, that I didn't have much made for the shows this fall, so now I am making 1 extra of everything I make and putting back for the show, because November will be here before you know it. I used a Sweet Meadow Farm pattern for the larger dolls and an Oh Sew Dollin one for the little guys.

I did't find the yarn I was looking for, but I did buy this off of EBAY, it is a Mohair yarn and came from Turkey, I got 4 skeins for $4.99 and shipping was $9.90, so there were only around $4.00 each. They delivered withing 4 days, now that is fast service. I used this yarn on the dolls above, I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Tomorrow, hope to hit JoAnn's, need some more fabric, of course and I will probably end up spending too much money again. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Cyndy

New Thrift/Junk Store/Give-away Win/Possible Swap

We all went "junking" and had a good time at the thrift/ junk/consignment shop today. We went to a little place in LaCrosse, Florida, all that is there is a fire station and Jiffy store. This place looked like it could fall down any minute. We all found several good buys, no one left empty-handed, even my hubby found a Prince Albert Tin that he had to have.

This is what I ended up with, a rocker for displaying dolls, a wire/wood dispaly rack, an enamel ware plate and a wooly sheep sign.

My dolls fit perfectly on this rocker.

We plan to go back next month and see what else we can find. Mary gave up shopping for Lent and couldn't buy anything today, just had to look and hope someone would "gift" her. I think she got gifted once

My Weekend Projects and Can you Help Me Find....

Hi, finishing up a few projects this weekend. We went shopping yesterday, and even my son, who is 19 went with us (I guess they sometimes don't mind being with THE PARENTS). We took in a movie, Battlefield Los Angeles, which was not bad, very pro-military, ate at one my favorite places, Zaxbys and hit a few stores.

I am looking for this type of yarn, a couple of weeks ago, I found a skein at Michaels, the last one and it was without the label (of course) and I picked it up to try it for doll hair, well, I loved it and now I can't find it any more. Does anyone know what brand or type of yarn this is, it is very coarse, fuzzy and a dark red/rust color.

I also, reduced one of Oh Sew Dollin patterns and made some mini Raggedy Anns, I love how they turned out, they can be used as a small doll, peg hangers or ornies. I hope to have lots of these made for my show this fall.

I also used some of the black checked fabric and that farm print material that I really like and made a bagholder and another Raggedy Ann. I used the chicken pattern from an Oh Sew Dollin pattern and primmed it up some.

I also, found this site that offers ornie, bowl fillers, etc. for a very reasonable price, http://www.mulberrymemories.com/ I bought these for some of my dolls to hold. She has them scented. I plan to buy more from her.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My co-workers and fellow bloggers (Debbie's Dodads, Country Doings and Dorothy's Doodles) plus some family members, plan to visit this little store next weekend in LaCrosse, a small town that has one Jiffy store and Fire Station and this store. It is supposed to be a consignment, prim craft, antique and junk store in an old barn that looks like it is going to fall down (according to someone that has been there). A friend has been there and came out with some really good "stuff" and cheap. I hope I remember to take my camera next week and will post some pictures if it turns out to be a "good" store.

What I am working on this Weekend ...

Hi, it is beautiful here, high today 87 degrees, so it is hot! But no clouds, just lots of sunshine. All of the dogwoods and azaleas are in bloom. We've started our evening walks again, since time has changed. We have also noticed lots of snake prints in the sand, so they are out big time, we live near the water, so lots of water moccasins around and of course, rattlesnakes once in awhile. This is picture of one of our dogwoods, they look much better in person, they are going wild all around us.

I made a few more dolls, another large one, this one using the fabric that I got from Wal-mart last, with the crows, corn and signs on it. I know it is a little early for fall dolls, but wanted to use some of that material. I made a little crow for her to hold with a tag that reads : Crows Allowed.

Also, made these little girls, from a Ragg Bagg Babys pattern. I used red hemp for hair on one and a red curly floss (that I have had for years, don't know where it came from). I added the little apron with some stitching on it. I realized I haven't made anything for the fall shows, so I am now trying to make two of all of the dolls, one for ETSY and one for the show.

Today, hubby and I went shopping, bought some more fabric. A Wal-mart near us still carries a fairly good line of fabric and I found several that I couldn't resist. I found the farm print design and thought it would make a good apron for a doll and that black polka dot goes great with it. I actually made a doll today with that fabric, she is pictured below. I also found the fall fabric with the crow and corn sign for $2.00 a yard, I couldn't resist it, thought it would make some great fall dolls and I also found the watermelon print.

After shopping and eating at McAlister's Deli, we stopped at a Bucklers Craft show that was held at the fairgrounds, it was the first year that they were in this location, wasn't great, but they had one booth that had a lot of prim items. I bought a framed sign that reads : Happiness is Homemade, a set of stacking boxes that looks great in my sewing room, an old fashioned teddy bear and the small ladder, I bought that for display at the craft shows, it will hold my elves perfectly.

Busy, Busy, where does the time go ....

Hi, I feel like I got a lot accomplished this week, finished up all but 1 order and made several more dolls.
I made this little Raggedy Mama with her newborn Annie.

I have some new patterns ordered, can't wait for them to get here, ready to tackle some new patterns this weekend. Hopefully, get some shopping done, need a little more material.

My son is on Spring Break this week and has been sleeping in some, so when I got to work, I got this call from him, someone had broken in to his car and stole his GPS and Ipod, and rifled thru his glove box, luckily that's is all they took, he has all of his fire gear in the back, and I would hate to have to replace that. We never lock our car doors, needless to say we are now and the front door also, usually leave it open during the day, but not anymore. My husband came home the other day early and found someone looking in our front window, and when he asked him what he wanted, claimed he was going door to door selling stuff. We live in a nice quiet residential area.

Great Free Patterns

I was reading up on everyone's blogs the other evening and I came across a blog (I'm sorry, I can't remember who it was) that mentioned some great free patterns on http://www.lilliemaescrafts.com/ And she was right, she has tons of free patterns. I copied off several and I made this one up, this was actually a combination of two of her patterns.

This a little girl raggedy all dressed up in her mama's clothes. The purse is made out of felt, she has painted on gloves with lace around the top, the same with her socks. She even got in her mama's red lipstick, she has a bright red pair of lips.

I picked up some baskets from Michaels, and added a baby raggedy with her teddy bear, I thought these would go with some of the larger raggedies.

This is some of what I got made this week, so far. Well, back to looking at other's blogs, have a great weekend.

Hi, just wanted to share a picture of a couple of dolls that I just finished up. I found the bumblebee print at Hobby Lobby and thought it would make a cute springtime dress for a raggedy, she has green checked pantaloons underneath. I also made up a raggedy with a pink dress with pink dotted swiss pantaloons and added a purchased bunny. I was very happy with the way they turned out.

We're finally having some really nice weather, no rain, it's supposed to be in the low 80's tomorrow and thru the weekend. Sunshine looks great. I was able to finish up a new little Easter Annie, I used a pattern by Chestnut Junction for the doll body. While I was in Michaels a few weeks ago, I found those fuzzy little Easter chicks, my mom always had them in our Easter baskets, they bring back a lot of memories. I also picked up some of those small brown baskets for $1.00 each, I love to shop in their $1.00 section.

I am learning how to paint the eyes on these dolls, I was a little leery the first time, cause I knew if I messed up, there went the doll, they are not perfect, but everytime I do another one, seems to better. I look at some of these blogs and see the eyes on some of their dolls and it is amazing at the talent some of these bloggers have. Have a good night, Bye!

It doesn't seem like I got much accomplished this week, working on some orders, these little Raggedies are almost finished, I have three more to do, the bodies are drying and hope to finish them up tomorrow, then onto a Mama Raggedy and some snowmen. These are from a IMSEEINGRAGGEDIES pattern, her patterns are fun and easy to make.

This a picture from one of my customers, Danice, she made the clothes and I made the doll, didn't she turn out great, an Amish Annie. She even made the doll stand, which I really like.

Just a quick post, I think I'll turn in early tonight, have some medical stuff to do tomorrow, not looking forward to, but we do what we have to. Happy Sewing, Cyndy

New Projects I have been working on ...

Well, I finally about caught up on orders, I have an order for an Amish Raggedy doll and a Raggedy Mama left to do, so I decided to take a little break and do something different, I love working with wool felt, so I was able to make a couple of penny rugs, these were both simple designs. This one is from Cath's Pennies Designs, I added some stitchery trees and stars and changed the arms a bit, this one I was able to complete in a couple of hours.

This one is a Primitive Junction pattern. Fast and fun to make.

And of course, I have been making Easter Raggedies, I have made a several of these, this is a Oh Sew Dollin' pattern. This is the last of the polka dot material, it has been very popular. I bid on a few patterns on EBAY and won them, Don't you just love EBAY when you win? So, hopefully, I'll get to make some new dolls this weekend.

My Swap from Jean@Prim Crafts

I was recently partnered with Jean of Prim Crafts inTammy's-- A Primitive Place prim doll swap. Let me just say, Jean is an awesome swapper. I absolutely love it all, especially the doll with the black cat, black cats are my fav.

I received this large Raggedy with a black cat, isn't she great? A prim Raggedy Ann and Andy set, a set of primitive hearts with a dove, a trinket box and a cat notepad. Thank you, Jean and thank you Tammy for hosting this swap.

This is another little Easter doll I finished, I had this blue polka dot material and wasn't sure what to do with it, so I paired it up with a blue floral print and make this little girl an Easter dress. She'll be on her way to her new home in a few days.

I also made this little dollie, she is from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern, quick and easy to make up. I have several of her patterns and love them all. Happy Crafting, Cyndy

I just love having a package waiting for me, when I get home. I had two this week, the first one was the Prim Pals Ornie Swap and it was a good one. This was the second ornie swap I participated in, great bunch of crafters. This is what I received :

This is a pillow I ordered from Jennifer @ StitchinThyme. I am adding sewing themed items to my craft room and couldn't resist this one, Jennifer had it wrapped in button print cloth (which I plan to use on one my dolls) with a ribbon tied around it.

This is a picture of the Raggedy Babies I have been making, I have sold quite a few sets of these already, they are from a Happy Hearts Pattern.

A new doll pattern from Bowl-n-Annies (now Oh Sew Dollin), that I changed into an Easter doll, found the little peeps at Michaels the other day and couldn't wait to use them. I listed her today on ETSY and she has already been adopted.

This is another that I just listed on ETSY, she is a big girl, 33 inches tall. I had made the dress a coupe of weeks ago and finally got her made.

We finally we were able to take our son out for his birthday meal today, he was 19 on Christmas Day. We went to Kan Ki, a Japanese Steakhouse, where they prepare the food on the table right before you, It was delicious. We also did a little shopping and of course, bought more material. My son got called out within 10 minutes of arriving home (he is a volunteer fireman), there was a 16 year who committed suicide , she shot herself in the head, needless to say it was very messy, my son, David, said this was the worst he has seen so far, he had to leave his shoes outside as they have to be cleaned, covered with blood. Then, a brush fire, it is going to be a busy night.

A New Raggedy Doll

Just a quick post, I wanted to share this new Raggedy that I made, it is a new pattern by Happy Heart Patterns, she is definitely alot of work, but I just looooove the way she turned out, especially the baby.

there is also a baby Andy in the pattern, but I wanted just one baby---

This is another new pattern for me, I used a doll pattern by Chestnut Junction and turned her into a Raggedy Ann. She will be on her way to Arkansas along with 3 other friends tomorrow.

I have been looking for some new Raggedy patterns and am very happy with these two. I have some pennyrug patterns that I want to try, Gina at Catnap Inn Primitives , has been busy turning them out and now I want to make some more of them. Well, I'll go for now, Happy Sewing--Cyndy

I am in two swaps with Prim Pals and I received my goodies from Jody in the "Won't You Be My Valentine" yesterday. I received a plaque that reads " Be Mine", a Wooden Heart hanging, a heart wreath, a bag of bowl fillers and a stitchery (which I absolutely love, as I collect stitcheries) and some candy. Thank you, Jody, I love it all.

I am also in the Valentine Ornie Swap, where we all send in nine ornies, there were nine of us this time, and you receive 9 back. I participated in the Christmas one, and it was so much fun, So I can't wait for Debbie to send our Valentine packages to us and to find out what the next swap will be. My weekend projects

It was nice to have three days off, the only thing we did was buy a new car for my hubby, his truck was worn out, so he bought a Honda Fit. The other 2 days, I did alot of crafting. Dolls, of course!! Today, it rained all day, so a good day to stay and in and sew. The one in blue is one of my favorites so far, she is holding a tattered bear. I found some cute little teddies at Pier 1 after Christmas and they were only 50cents, but I found out that they only had one ear, a stocking cap covered the other side and when that was taken off, NO EAR, so I cut it open a little and pulled a little stuffing and added a patch to his belly and he looks well loved.

All of these little dolls have found new homes and will be in the mail soon.

My Valentine Annie.This is the first time I used bright colored fabric, I tend to use prim and darker colors, I found some material with Easter bunnies that I plan to use next.

This was a special order for a Raggedy Lover, she wanted a little Andy holding a gingerbread man, to go along with Annie and her cat.

Hi, I just had a follower contact me, they have been not receiving my updates or able to comment on my blog, if you have had a problem with this please contact me. Not sure how I'll fix that, but I'll see if I can figure it out.

I've been busy this week finishing up some doll orders and adding a few new items to ETSY. These are a few that I have finished up, this little girl is a new one.

This is one of my favorite patterns-she is from a pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm. I found a new yarn that I really like, it is a bamboo spun lumpy yarn from Hobby Lobby. It is a little expensive, but I can get 4-5 dolls from a skein. I found it in a bright red, which is perfect for the Americana Raggedies.

This is the red yarn ....on this doll.

The Americana dolls have been extremely popular, I had a small piece of the chicken patriotic print and used it on a doll and had some requests for more of the same doll, so I was able to buy 2 yards off of ETSY.

This little Annie and the monkeys are on their way to California, Hope you enjoy them Robyn.

I made 3 more Little Laura on the Prairie dolls, these have been really popular too.

This dress is a pattern I got from Mary, she has made the Annie and the dress,she bought the pattern from the Plum Patch. I found this patchwork material at Walmart, marked down to $2.00, couldn't resist. I love the embroidered saying at the bottom : BLESS MY RAGGEDY SOUL.

New Dollies and Our Give-Away

Welll it was back to work Monday, didn't get as much made this week, I trying to list some new dolls on ETSY. I just finished this new Raggedy doll . I found the pattern while browsing through ETSY. This is Little Laura Ann on the Prairie doll by Oh Sew Dollin.

I'm really happy with the way she turned out.

The one below is a design that I came up with, I used torn strips of fabric which I attached to the head. then braided and tied with strips of matching dress fabric.

I found the apron print on-line at Hobby Lobby, it has the lines of the Pledge of Allegiance printed across it. I hope to make a trip to Hobby Lobby this weekend and stock up on material. So, I'll probably spend a small fortune.

Happy New Year and a New Give-Away

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year. We want to start off the new year with a new give-away, this is a large red heel sock monkey. I had one when I was younger and it went everywhere with me.

I have been busy working on doll orders this week, that is all the girls lined up by the fireplace, they are all orders except for the prairie Annie, she is a new pattern, not sure if I like her or not. I have 3 more dolls to make, one naked body to dress and 10 snowmen to finish this weekend. I am also in 2 Valentine swaps, which are so much fun. I'm glad I enjoy making the dolls. I hope to find time and order some new Raggedy patterns and maybe a few others, our wireless internet is down, they got the desktop up and running but can't figure why the other isn't working, they are supposed to be here today, hopefully, later I can get to all of my stuff on my laptop.

Holidays are Over and the Great Clean-up Begins

Well, the holidays are over, I packed up all of my Christmas things today. I always like the way the house looks after the holidays, everything looks so nice and neat, for a little while anyway.

I started working on my craft room, I got lots of samplers this year as presents, so I added them to my wall of photos above my work space.

This is my desk, where I am going to try to keep my paperwork, it usually ends up on the couch, piled in the corner.

Behind the pegboard are plastic bins, where I store my finished crafts, the ones hanging on the board are on my ETSY site now.

I like to collect cats and these are a few of the cookie jars and canisters, plates that I collected over the years The wooden cats hanging above the plates, was one of my gifts from Mary this year.

The messy part of my room, I haven't gotten to that side yet. I plan to go thru everything and get rid of stuff that I don't use.

This is my prim Christmas Tree,(which is still up) that has all of my swaps on. I plan to keep it up thru the year, I am now doing the first one of 2011, a Valentine ornie swap and another Valentine gift swap, thru Prim Pals.

This is the finished Halloween doll that I started last October and finally finished her. She is on her way to her new home along with the Americana doll below.

This is another one I finished up today, as you can tell, Raggedies are my favorite doll to make.

And last, I wanted to share this great Santa I won off EBAY from Liberty Folk Art, I got him for $28.00, I was the only bidder on this one and I think I got a great deal. (Not sure why the picture is soooo small) He is 2 1/2 feet tall, can't wait to see him, he was shipped today.

P.S. We actually had some snow flurries in Northern Florida, on Sunday. I've seen the pic's of everyone else snow, wish we had enough to make a snowman!

Merry Christmas

Hi, I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed their day with their family and friends. We had a nice quiet Christmas, we opened our presents, my son received lots of fire related items. He is a volunteer fireman and is going on to become a fireman/EMT. Loves it, I not sure that I do, everytime he goes out to a fire, I worry until he gets back and there have been alot of fires lately, it is so dry here, that fires are starting from cars backfiring, people burning when they shouldn't,etc. Hubby then baked a ham, which was yummy. Tomorrow it is supposed to be only in the 40's and 20-30 mph winds, so I think I will have a pot of beans with some brocoli cornbread and keep a fire going all day.

Mary and I had never been Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve before, so we got up early and headed to Hilliard, to visit our friend, Beth, at her primitive store, B & B Crafts. Mary stopped for coffee at McDonalds, and guess who we saw ...... Mr. & Mrs. Santa and their little helper waving from the window at us as we drove away

We made it to Hilliard and this is our friend Beth, bagging up our purchases, she was having a half-off sale on everything in the store, needless to say, we bought quite a few things.

We took off for Orange Park, of course KOHL's and Kirklands, two of our favorite stores. We then had lunch at McAlister's Deli and decided it was time to head home. We definitely want to start a new tradition and go shopping on Christmas Eve again.
